Alejandro Samaniego has studied drama for over 15 years and the focus of his training has been mostly in physical theater and improvisation. He has performed in Mexico as Igor in Franky, and Cacambo in Candide. In Tucson he has performed with a number of different theatre companies including The Rogue Theatre (Grez in Red Noses), Borderlands (Bocon in Bocon), and Coyote Ramblers (Mikey in The Ledge, Toto in Jones-ing), among others. "I am a very, very firm believer of creating a strong group dynamic to achieve powerful ensemble works. For me, it is never about any one specific actor's needs or wants, it is always about the entire group of artists, working together, as one. Yet personally my favorite form of performance is the monologue, the one-man show. Working alone, on a dark stage is my favorite way to communicate with a live audience." Alex decided that he wanted to produce theatre as well, in order to bring more opportunities for positive collaboration to the community. The goal is to create a community of theatre companies that work together and help each other to ultimately make Tucson a city that attracts both artists and patrons.
