Aaron Shand
Born and raised in Tucson, Arizona, Aaron Shand received his Bachelor's Degree in Acting from the University of Arizona in 2008. As a student in their classical training program, he received extensive training in the areas of Shakespeare, Restoration comedy, Molière, Commedia dell'Arte as well as modern, post-1950's theatre. He also studied in the area of stage combat for two years and before he graduated, Aaron became certified as a professional Actor/Combatant. To this day, staged combat continues to be one of Aaron's specialties and most cherished hobbies.
As a member of the Arizona Repertory Theatre, which was run in conjunction with the School of Theatre Arts, Aaron had the opportunity to perform in a variety of different roles. His most notable credits include: Bo Decker in Bus Stop, James Keller in The Miracle Worker, and his personal favorite, Tybalt in Shakespeare's Romeo & Juliet.
After receiving his Bachelor's degree, he headed off to the frigid winter temperatures of Wisconsin to study as an intern with the Milwaukee Repertory Theater. While in Milwaukee, he studied with and observed some of the best actors and directors in the business. He had the privilege of being a part of such productions as State of the Union, A Christmas Carol and Anton Chekhov's The Cherry Orchard. After sharpening his skills as an artist and a professional, Aaron decided to follow his heart and left the beloved world of theatre behind, packed his bags and headed for the over-crowded streets of Los Angeles.
After moving to Los Angeles, Aaron quickly enrolled at the Margie Haber Studio so that he could begin to acquire the necessary skills to make the transition from the stage to the screen. Since then, he continues to study and train with some of the best teachers in the industry. Aaron is constantly in the trenches, learning new things, finding new projects in order to build the foundation for what he hopes will be a very long career in the film and television industry. His most recent credits include a supporting role in the L.A. Film School thesis film, Job Race.
When he's not acting, Aaron is an avid sailor, racquetball enthusiast and poker player. He also spends much of his time watching countless movies, and his film collection rivals that of a small video rental store. He also loves to dabble in other areas of the film & TV industry as he enjoys writing and film editing. After a long week, you can probably find Aaron at the local watering hole.
